Policy

The project intends to promote a value based understanding and practice of Community Work to assist the meaningful participation and integration of marginalised and minority groups in society by promoting the adoption of Community Work Standards based on principles of equality and social justice.

The project will also seek to bring forward the issues faced by marginalised groups and those affected by sectarianism and racism to various policy / political structures at a local, regional and national level. The project will also seek to meet with Community Sector networks and groups to examine current concerns and to identify a number of key issues to be brought forward; develop policy submissions for the creation of a strong ‘voice' in the border region; research, analyse and publish articles which explain policy developments and other issues relevant to community organisations; engage with cross border bodies to forward policy issues and develop a media strategy to run in conjunction with policy campaigns to highlight issues coming forward from the sector.
