What We Do

Introduction

The CWC Strategic Priorities for 2009-2010 were agreed at the CWC AGM in October 2009. The CWC currently has four areas of priority work. These are:

  1. To work to embed quality community work in practice and policy
  2. To resource and support the community sector
  3. To contribute to the development of structures that support and enable quality community work
  4. To ensure the sustainability and further development of the CWC

The CWC does this by:

  • Providing information and analysis to its members and the community sector
  • Providing opportunities for capacity building
  • Engaging with the community sector on important issues & themes
  • Promoting standards for quality community work
  • Producing relevant publications & materials
  • Representing the community sector on various forums at regional and national level
  • Engaging with the social partnership process through engagement primarily with the Community Platform and also with the Community & Voluntary Pillar
