Membership
A central characteristic of the Community Workers' Co-operative is that it is a membership organisation. The CWC responds to the needs and derives its mandate primarily from its members.
Membership is open to those that subscribe to the aims of the CWC. Members contribute to the CWC in a number of ways:
- Participation in CWC subgroups
- Participation in CWC activities
- Responding to policy developments
- Contributing to CWC policy submissions
- Members can also join the CWC without being active.
By becoming a member of the CWC you:
- Receive regular updates and information on the community sector
- Receive regular analysis on social and economic policies that affect community work and those with whom community work engages
- Contribute to an organisation that represents community work and the community sector at national level
- Contribute to an organisation that represents your interests and the interests of community work
- Influence local and national government policy
